Rustic Vintage Christmas

I made these rustic, shabby chic, vintage looking christmas cards using distress oxide inks. I first heat embossed the snowflakes in white on white background paper. Then added distressed oxide inks with blending brush using walnut stain, frayed burlap, iced spruce, hickory smoke. Flicked water on top of the inks. Also flicked some Walnut Ink from Tsukineko and some Weathered Wood distress paint (Tim Holtz). Distressed the snowflakes, branches and tree die cuts with oxide inks and added minty fresh lunar paste to some areas (including a through a stencil). My whole goal was to use the All Spruced Up bundle in a vintage way (rather than a fun and festive way that had been my trend).

Christmas Trees Abound

Another simple card using the All Spruced Up bundle. I used always artichoke, perfectly pear and cucumber green for the trees.

All Spruced Up Card

Inspired by a card on Martin's Mayhem instagram post. Using All Spruced Up bundle. Fun and simple, non traditional colors!

Embossed Snowflakes

Having fun with an oldie but goodie, SNOWFLAKE WISHES set. I heat embossed the snowflakes in white before using the blending brush to add dapper denim. Simple but striking.

Fall Is In The Air

Fall is in the air in my neck of the woods with the smell of wood stove burning and crisp nights! I love the imagery of the sunflowers and the pumpkins in the back of a classic truck coming from the pumpkin patch!

Classic Truck Cards

This classic truck from Loads of Love set never gets old! I love the versatility of looking feminine or rustic or masculine. I struggle with masculine guy cards, and this set never fails.

Funny as Cluck Card

I love these chickens - they always make me smile! They are from Hey Chick and Hey Birthday Chick stamp sets with matching dies. I printed the sentiment on my printer and die cut with the Stitched Nested Labels. I also printed sentiments that say Happy Clucking Birthday, I Clucking Miss You, I Love Your Clucking Face because I just think they are too cute!

Masculine Birthday Cards

Masculine cards do not come easy for me! Somehow I always want to use flowers lol! For the tree card I used an off brand die to cut various size paper strips in various colors. The trees are from both Pine Woods Dies and Majestic Mountain Dies. The sentiment is an off brand as well. Easy peasy, super simple.

For the next card, I used the same colorful strips, then colored yupo paper with alcohol inks and then die cut the fish and hook with Catch of the Day Dies. Sentiment is from Approaching Perfection stamp set. A funny birthday card for witha  masculine flair!

Catch of the Day

Catch of the day is a beauty! I struggle with masculine, guy cards but this catch of the day and best catch bundle makes it a little easier! I used distress oxide inks on watercolor paper for the fisherman background. I used alcohol inks on yupo paper, then stamped and die cut the fish and lure. Handpainted the plaid background on watercolor paper with oxide inks as well.

Triple Greetings

More of the fun Hey Birthday Chick bundle. The sentiment is from Sweet Strawberry stamp set and the background squares are from Tasteful Touches. The chickens were colored with Ohuhu alcohol ink markers. The chickens are a great all occasion greeting!

Rustic Donkey

A simple presentation of the Darling Donkey - a 2021 saleabration set. The wood panel background is stamped with Hardwood background stamp in Dapper Denim, and then I used the blending brushes to add a little Frayed Burlap Distress Oxide Ink. The fence panel is a die cut from the Hey Chick dies and the sentiment is from the Sweet Strawberry set. The donkey was colored with Copic markers.

Plaid Chick

I can't seem to get enough of the Hey, Chick and Hey Birthday Chick bundles. I opted for a more colorful background on this one. The Cucumber Green background panel is embossed with the old Tulip Frame ef. I created the plaid background panel with a paint brush and distress oxide inks on watercolor paper (Mowed Lawn, Pine Needles and Twisted Cirtron). The chickens are colored with Ohuhu alcohol ink markers.

Simple Hey Chick

Another card using the Hey Birthday Chick bundle and the Hey Chick bundles. I thought I'd leave more "white" and let the cute chickens do the work!

Distress Oxide Ink Gears

Smoky Slate Cardstock & Distress Oxide Inks

I created this quick video to show you how you can take a piece of Smoky Slate cardstock and turn it into a mottled, grungey, oxidized looking piece for die cutting the Garage Gears thinlits. I used the Ranger Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Inks in Black Soot, Walnut Stain, Antique Linen, Hickory Smoke, Frayed Burlap and Tumbled Glass. To finish off the piece, I added some of the Ranger micro distress glaze.

All of the embossed panels were made using the different distress oxide inks, in the same way as the garage gears, just different colors.

Happy Birthday Chick 2

Still playing around with the Hey Chick and Hey Birthday Chick bundles. I decided to focus on Soft Sea Foam Green for this card. The background panel is Soft Sea Foam Green, as well as the body of the chicken and the egg shell of the baby chick using Stampin' Blends in the Soft Sea Foam. I love that each chick looks like they are doing a little dance of celebration! The background behind the die cut fence was applied using the blending brushes and Tumbled Glass distress oxide ink.

Watercolor Strawberries

I CASE'd this card from pinterest: https://www.pinterest.com/pin/346284658855641742/

After stamping the strawberries from Sweet Strawberry stamp set, I colored with watercolor paints and aquapainter brush. The dots were from Waterfront stamp set. I love the freedom of the watercolor, where it's okay to color outside the lines! The watercolor set I used is Giorgione 48 color.

These cards will be sent to some ladies that attended one of my workshops that had never been exposed to stamping and papercrafting!

Blueberries of Hope

This blueberry image is from the Berry Blessings SAB set. The two step stamping makes it come out beautiful. I added a little watercoloring in a different blue on top of the berries for a small contrast. Jeremiah 29:11 is one of my all time favorite verses. A reminder that God is for us, He is with us, He has a plan, and we have hope! The blueberries are stamped on Soft Seafoam Green CS in Cucumber Crush and Night of Navy. The blueberry fill color is Dapper Denim.

Vintage Birthday

My goal was to come up with a card that could be masculine. I was in the mood to play around with oxide inks, and I love that the results are never the same when working with these inks. I did the oxide ink smooshing on my craft mat, sprayed with water in various colors of Antique Linen, Frayed Burlap, Hickory Smoke, Black Soot, Iced Spruce and Tumbled Glass. I applied and smooshed until I got a beautiful, mottled background. Then I stamped the World Map stamp on the large backgrond piece, and embossed the other two panels with square lattice and a license plate ef. The little truck is from an old stampin up set (loads of love?). I stamped the truck on kraft paper, then smooshed in the various oxide inks.

Happy Bithday Chick

A fun birthday greeting using the Hey Birthday Chick bundle. I lightly stenciled the background in Smoky Slate with the Basic Pattern Decorative Masks and the Blending Brush. A fun card for any age!

Hey Cupcake

The chickens in the Hey Chick and Hey Birthday Chick stamp sets make me smile. They are so fun and great for adult or child card. I stenciled the background with Basic Pattern Decorative Masks and a blending brush in Sweet Sugarplum and a little Flirty Flamingo. The chicks were colored with watercolor paints and the aquapainter brush. I do not know the brand for the sentiment, it's just in an old stash that I have.
