I stamped the butterflies on whisper white, and colored with chalk; then sponged in the different colors in a circular patterns around the butterflies (started with so saffron and daffodil delight, cajun craze and calypso coral, baja breeze and marina mist, then wild wysteria and elegant eggplant). I embossed the entire image with vintage wallpaper EF then added a little more elegant eggplant sponging around the edges. Tied ribbon and matted with elegant eggplant and baja breeze. I stamped sentiment on whisper white, sponged in elegant eggplant and daffodil delight; matted with oval scallop and added itty bitty flower punch with a rhinestone.

Butterfly Sunset

I used the brayer technique on this card. I first stamped the field flowers and butterfly in black stazon; then stamped the shading part of field flowers in so saffron. I colored the butterfly with markers. Then I used a versamarker to cover the images and embossed them with clear embossing powder. I brayered daffodil delight in bottom left corner at an angle. After masking off the sun with a post it, I brayered from the top right hand corner at an angle: so saffron; then moving up a little and not quite covering all of the so saffron  added calypso coral; then not covering all of the calypso coral added melon mambo; sponged in so saffron on the sun.

SUPPLIES:
  • cardstock - melon mambo, black, whisper white
  • ink - daffodil delight, so saffron, calypso coral, melon mambo, versamark pen
  • stamps - field flowers, papillon potpourri, itty bitty banners
  • accessories - modern label punch, bitty banners framelits, itty bitty shapes punches, clear embossing powder, heat gun

Poppy Window

I was testing out my new Pleasant Poppies backbground stamp. I made it a "window" of poppies by first embossing the wild wasabi mat with the vintage wallpaper, then cutting out the frame with the labels framelits. I colored the poppies using pumpkin pie, calypso coral and mellow moss. The butterfly is from the new Papillon Potpourri set and is stamped in calypso coral and then punched out with coordinating butterfly punch.

  • carstock: calypso coral, wild wasabi, whisper white, black
  • stamps: pleasant poppies, papillon potpourri, because i care (old hostess)
  • ink: stazon black, calypso coral
  • accessories: modern label, word window, and elegant butterfly punch; labels framelits; black rhinestones not SU
