Bird Crazy and Gelli Plates

More Gelli plate fun and the bird crazy stamps from Tim Holtz Stamper's Anonymous. I love, love, love these funny little birds. Their facial expressions are darling.

I used the Gelli plate, lightweight watercolor paper, acrylics, distress inks, stencils, brayer, sponges, distress paste and washi tape to create the backgrounds. I love the funky bold colors, great patterns and textures, and of course the crazy birds! The sentiments are from Tim Holtz Stamper's Anonymous Tiny Text set.

SHINE LIKE THE STARS / light the way

DON'T FORGET TO FLY / choose to shine

Stampscapes Father's Day

I have been enjoying playing around with the stampscapes large lakeside cove stamp set. They were stamped on gloss white paper with mementos ink, then brayered over with various shades of blue and aqua.

Fall Leaves Joseph's Coat

This is a card made using the Joseph's Coat technique. I CASE'd it from a card I first saw on Stampin' Connection but I don't remember the ladies name. We actually made this at a workshop I held at Wildcat Pizza last night!

I used the FRENCH FOLIAGE and TEENY TINY WISHES sets. You take whisper white cardstock and sponge on a variety of colors - make them bright. Then you stamp the leaf image using a versamark pad and emboss with clear powder. Ink up a brayer or sponge in espresso ink and cover the entire card several times. Wipe off the excess ink from the embossed image. It's such a striking result :)
Misc: primrose petal ribbon; oval, scallop oval and circle punch, little leaves diecut; designer buttons; melon mambo, espresso cardstock..

Brayered Poppies

To make this card I first stamped the poppy image in rich razzleberry on whisper white cardstock, heat embossed to set ink, then colored image with versamark pen and heat embossed with clear EP. Brayered pink pirouhette, cajun craze, rich razzleberry, not quite covering the previous color as I brayered the next; embossed the image with perfect polka dot EF and cut with labels framelits and sponged rich razzleberry around the edges.

Butterfly Sunset

I used the brayer technique on this card. I first stamped the field flowers and butterfly in black stazon; then stamped the shading part of field flowers in so saffron. I colored the butterfly with markers. Then I used a versamarker to cover the images and embossed them with clear embossing powder. I brayered daffodil delight in bottom left corner at an angle. After masking off the sun with a post it, I brayered from the top right hand corner at an angle: so saffron; then moving up a little and not quite covering all of the so saffron  added calypso coral; then not covering all of the calypso coral added melon mambo; sponged in so saffron on the sun.

SUPPLIES:
  • cardstock - melon mambo, black, whisper white
  • ink - daffodil delight, so saffron, calypso coral, melon mambo, versamark pen
  • stamps - field flowers, papillon potpourri, itty bitty banners

Wolf Father's Day Card

Another Father's Day card using Nature Silhouettes, Lovely as a Tree, and the brayering technique.
First I masked off the moon and the bottom hill with post it notes. Then I brayered Daffodil Delight just above the hill; masked off the top portion and brayered Calypso Coral just above the Daffodil Delight. Removed the top mask and brayered Wisteria Wonder, Elegant Eggplant over that, then Not Quite Navy. Removed the moon mask and sponged a Daffodil Delight. Stamped the background trees in black; removed the bottom hill mask and sponged the hill in with Lucky Limeade and Always Artichoke. Stamped the front trees. Stamped the wolf at the top of the hill; sponged in a little bit of Soft Suede under the hill line and around the bottom edges. Used ticket punch on the top right corner, added word window in Lucky Limeade and Elegant Eggplant; added brads.
I feel accomplished because I have such a hard time making masculine cards : ) Thanks for looking!
