Poppies & Doily

I started by inking the Hello Doily stamp in Sahara Sand onto Whisper White cardstock. Then stamped the Pleasant Poppies and little butterfly from Papillon Potpourri directly on top of the doily using Black Stazon ink. Colored the flowers and butterfly with markers - baja breeze, island indigo, garden green. Added a little Signo white gel pen. Added shadows under flowers and butterfly with Sahara Sand marker. Background panel is Pool Party.

Thank you Katherine Constable of Australia for the inspiration - I originally saw her card similar to this on Stampin' Connection!

Birthday Blues

This card is done in my favorite shades of SU's blues :) I first stamped the flowers from everything eleanor in basic gray on whisper white cardstock. Colored them in with pool party, baja breeze, night of navy. Cut into strips and matted with pool party. Matted poppy parade designer series paper with pool party; adhered all 3 to basic gray panel. Stamped another flower in basic black on watercolor paper; colored with markers and cut out. The lacey scallop circle mats in basic gray are from the lacey circles by spellbinders nestabilities. The pool party scallop is the 2 3/8" punch. Colored the happiest wishes sentiment with night of navy and baja breeze pens and punched with 1 3/4" circle punch.
In case you wondered, pearls are a cover up of an unfortunate and frustrating smudge at the end of the card, as is the placement of the ribbon :) So many of my cards get some added elements to cover up boo boos!

I outlined the poppies with a Pink Pirouhette marker. The background is stamped in Wild Wasabi and Cherry Cobbler; sentiment from Itty Bitty Banners is stamped in Cherry Cobbler as well.

Poppy Window

I was testing out my new Pleasant Poppies backbground stamp. I made it a "window" of poppies by first embossing the wild wasabi mat with the vintage wallpaper, then cutting out the frame with the labels framelits. I colored the poppies using pumpkin pie, calypso coral and mellow moss. The butterfly is from the new Papillon Potpourri set and is stamped in calypso coral and then punched out with coordinating butterfly punch.

  • carstock: calypso coral, wild wasabi, whisper white, black
  • stamps: pleasant poppies, papillon potpourri, because i care (old hostess)
  • ink: stazon black, calypso coral
  • accessories: modern label, word window, and elegant butterfly punch; labels framelits; black rhinestones not SU

Everything Eleanor

I almost didn't get the Everything Eleanor stamp set - and now I'm so glad I did! There are so many other things I should be doing right now, instead of playing with my new SU stuff : )  Anyhoo...I used markers and blender pens on the flowers. The one on the right had yellow for the center sticking up things - it didn't look right; so I colored over it with the white and it came out a yellowish color.
SUPPLIES USED:
  • Sahara Sand, Melon Mambo Cardstock. Watercolor Paper
  • Petals a Plenty, Framed Tulips Embossing Folders
  • Floral Frames Framelits, Bitty Banners Framelits
  • Everything Eleanor, Itty Bitty Banners stamp sets
  • Pink Pirouhette, Calypso Coral, Melon Mambo, Cherry Cobbler, Daffodil Delight, White markers; uni-ball Signo gel pen and blender pen
  • black stazon, Crumb Cake ink
  • Ribbon and pink rhinestones not SU

For you Floral

Well, at least I used a different EF and did not use the lace ribbon border punch ( :  Still couldn't sway myself away from the label framelit.  I was trying to do the marker layering and have it turn out as beautiful as Karen Barber and many of the other amazing stamping artists out there - hopefully with a little practice.  I may need to change this out to a get well soon card - my best friend's mom just fell off her bike and broke her knee cap.  She is having surgery today - ouch!

Apothecary Note of Thanks

I absolutely love the Apothecary Art set item #125527 with the label framelits from the occasions mini catalog 2012.  The set is still available for early order, as it is one of the carry-overs into the new 2012 - 2013 idea book and catalog.
I used the marker layering technique as shown on one of Karen Barber's posts.  The embossing folders are the vintage wall paper, square lattice, and perfect polka dots; the punch is the lace border.  The paper colors used are daffodil delight, wild wasabi, pink pirouette, very vanilla.
