Pressed Flower Inspiration

I love flowers and I love spring. One of my favorite things to do is collect and press the pretty flowers in my yard and surrounding area. So I thought'd I'd do a pressed flower/stampin up mashup :)

I placed the flowers in the pages of a large book, sandwiched it between more large books, and let dry for 2 weeks. I glued the flowers to the paper with Aleene's Tacky glue and then covered with Crystal Effects to protect it.

The paper that the pressed flowers are matted on is homemade paper as well. So pressed flower glued to homemade paper, accented with honeycomb embossing folder, banner blast, and say it with scripture sets. The inside of the card has the rest of the Matthew 19:26 stamp - With God all things are possible.

Vintage Honeycomb

When I teach my card workshops, I have to keep the idea fun and eye-catching without being too involved. I hadn't pulled out "Elements of Style" in a long time and forgot how much I love this set!

Make sure to stamp the background flower before embossing with the honeycomb EF. I also stamped the chevron pattern from the Oh, Hello set on whisper white using Pretty in Pink classic pad; stamped the flower from Elements of style in Early Espresso and then cut with the labels framelits. Colored the flower pattern with markers.
