Truly Grateful

SUPPLIES:

  • Cardstock: Really Rust, Pumpkin Pie, Espresso, Crumb Cake, Soft Suede
  • Ink: Espresso, Cherry Cobbler
  • Stamps: Ornamental Pine, Gorgeous Grunge, Truly Grateful
  • Accessories: Espresso Baker's Twine, Paper Crimper, Stampin' Write Markers, Reinkers, Sponge Daubers. Shaving cream, pop-up dots.

This was my first time playing around with the shave cream technique:

Add the cheap, foamy white shave cream to a baking sheet or tray with edges. I had a cheap foil casserole pan that I used. Add 3 or 4 drops of each reinker color to the shave cream. I used Cajun Craze, Pumpkin Pie, Brown Sugar and Pear Pizzazz. Swirl the colors together (I used my bone folder because I found a smaller toothpick didn't quite swirl it enough; it depends on the look you are trying to achieve). Press the Pumpkin Pie 4" X 5 1/4" CS panel directly into the shave cream, smushing it down for coverage. Scrape off excess with a piece of scrap cardstock; blot with a papertowel. Allow to dry for a few minutes.

While the panel is drying, stamp the pinecones in Espresso on Soft Suede and Crumb Cake CS (you need 3); add some Brown Sugar and Crumb Cake marker to the pinecone image. Fussy cut.

Run piece of 2 3/4" x 2 3/8" Crumb Cake CS through paper crimper; sponge daub edges with Espresso. Tear piece of Pumpkin Pie CS and stamp log round image with Versamark, then Truly Grateful sentiment in Cherry Cobber; add gorgeous grunge dots in Espresso and sponge daub edges with Espresso. Adhere to crimped background.

Take your pumpkin pie panel an stamp the ornamental pine in Espresso; go over some of the image with Espresso and Always Artichoke markers to add depth to the pine. Stamp gorgeous grunge dots in Espresso and sponge daub edges in espresso. Tie baker's twine around panel and mat with Espresso CS; mount on Really Rust card. Add matted sentiment and pinecones using pop-up dot; adhere other two pinecones to right corner of card.

Another card using Gorgeous Grunge, Truly Grateful, Express Yourself along with Pleasant Poppies.
