SAB 2023

This is one of my favorite sets from the January 2023 SAB sale a-bration catalog. The papers used are basic white, old olive and powder pink. I first stamped the carrots in tangerine tango on white cs with cucumber green for the foliage. Then I put some pacific point on an acetate sheet, spritzed with water, and applied the blue with the water painter brush. Then stamped the carrots again and fussy cut and used stampin dimensionals to pop up on top of stamped image. The background leaves are stamped in pear pizzazz.

Hey There

It's almost SAB time (sale a-bration)! Order spend $50 in product, and get this THANKS A BUNCH set for free! Sale a-bration starts 1-5-2023. This is just sneak peak of a quick and fun card to show off the carrots in this set.

I stamped the large carrots in groovy guava then crushed curry to create the orange color, then stamped the carrot texture in tangerine tango. The foliage was done in pear pizzazz, lemon lime and cucumber crush. The background carrots were stamped in tangerine tango. HEY THERE sentiment was stamped in full with cucumber crush, then stamped again without reloading the ink, and repeat.

Flakes and Rock Candy

Have you ever recorded how many hours it takes to make your handmade Christmas greeting cards? And who else feels guilty if you buy a store bought greeting card lol!

But I thoroughly enjoyed every minute spent on crafting these handmade cards!

For the backgrounds on most of the cards, I smooshed inks individually on acetate, spritzed with water, and then smooshed on cardstock or watercolor paper. I mostly used distress oxide inks, but also some regular stampin up ink colors.

All of the snowflakes are older Stampin Up dies that were cut out of colored cardstock, brushed on with Wink of Stella, then added Ranger's glossy accents in followed with Tim Holtz  Rock Candy (large glitter). Also added the Rock Candy to random spots on the edges of each card panel.

Mountain Man Card

A masculine card for my father in law's birthday. The waterfront stamp set is one of my faves, it's so forgiving. I first watercolor smooshed the background on watercolor paper with Lemon Lime, Dapper Denim and Cucumber Green (stamped some of each color on acetate, sprayed with water, then smooshed on the watercolor cardstock). After it dried I stamped the mountains in Lost Lagoon, the trees in Mossy Meadow, the water in Coastal Cabana, and the little cabin in Dapper Denim. Added a few spatters of basic black ink with a wet aqua painter.

Saltwater & Spruce Birthday

I'm loving the color combo iced spruce and saltwater taffy in the distress oxide inks. I stamped them on acetate, spritz with water and smooshed on the paper for the background colors. Then stamped the image from Nature's prints in the same colors. Used the french print from the old French Foliage set. Added some distress paste mixed with silver stickles and glitter using a Tim Holtz splatter template and added some to the die cut happy birthday. Also added some iced spruce to the edges with a blending brush. It was difficult to capture a photo that showed the glimmer of the Stickles...

Rustic Vintage Christmas

I made these rustic, shabby chic, vintage looking christmas cards using distress oxide inks. I first heat embossed the snowflakes in white on white background paper. Then added distressed oxide inks with blending brush using walnut stain, frayed burlap, iced spruce, hickory smoke. Flicked water on top of the inks. Also flicked some Walnut Ink from Tsukineko and some Weathered Wood distress paint (Tim Holtz). Distressed the snowflakes, branches and tree die cuts with oxide inks and added minty fresh lunar paste to some areas (including a through a stencil). My whole goal was to use the All Spruced Up bundle in a vintage way (rather than a fun and festive way that had been my trend).

Embossed Snowflakes

Having fun with an oldie but goodie, SNOWFLAKE WISHES set. I heat embossed the snowflakes in white before using the blending brush to add dapper denim. Simple but striking.

Funny as Cluck Card

I love these chickens - they always make me smile! They are from Hey Chick and Hey Birthday Chick stamp sets with matching dies. I printed the sentiment on my printer and die cut with the Stitched Nested Labels. I also printed sentiments that say Happy Clucking Birthday, I Clucking Miss You, I Love Your Clucking Face because I just think they are too cute!

Simple Hey Chick

Another card using the Hey Birthday Chick bundle and the Hey Chick bundles. I thought I'd leave more "white" and let the cute chickens do the work!

Distress Oxide Ink Gears

Smoky Slate Cardstock & Distress Oxide Inks

I created this quick video to show you how you can take a piece of Smoky Slate cardstock and turn it into a mottled, grungey, oxidized looking piece for die cutting the Garage Gears thinlits. I used the Ranger Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Inks in Black Soot, Walnut Stain, Antique Linen, Hickory Smoke, Frayed Burlap and Tumbled Glass. To finish off the piece, I added some of the Ranger micro distress glaze.

All of the embossed panels were made using the different distress oxide inks, in the same way as the garage gears, just different colors.

Happy Birthday Chick 2

Still playing around with the Hey Chick and Hey Birthday Chick bundles. I decided to focus on Soft Sea Foam Green for this card. The background panel is Soft Sea Foam Green, as well as the body of the chicken and the egg shell of the baby chick using Stampin' Blends in the Soft Sea Foam. I love that each chick looks like they are doing a little dance of celebration! The background behind the die cut fence was applied using the blending brushes and Tumbled Glass distress oxide ink.

Blueberries of Hope

This blueberry image is from the Berry Blessings SAB set. The two step stamping makes it come out beautiful. I added a little watercoloring in a different blue on top of the berries for a small contrast. Jeremiah 29:11 is one of my all time favorite verses. A reminder that God is for us, He is with us, He has a plan, and we have hope! The blueberries are stamped on Soft Seafoam Green CS in Cucumber Crush and Night of Navy. The blueberry fill color is Dapper Denim.

Vintage Birthday

My goal was to come up with a card that could be masculine. I was in the mood to play around with oxide inks, and I love that the results are never the same when working with these inks. I did the oxide ink smooshing on my craft mat, sprayed with water in various colors of Antique Linen, Frayed Burlap, Hickory Smoke, Black Soot, Iced Spruce and Tumbled Glass. I applied and smooshed until I got a beautiful, mottled background. Then I stamped the World Map stamp on the large backgrond piece, and embossed the other two panels with square lattice and a license plate ef. The little truck is from an old stampin up set (loads of love?). I stamped the truck on kraft paper, then smooshed in the various oxide inks.

Happy Bithday Chick

A fun birthday greeting using the Hey Birthday Chick bundle. I lightly stenciled the background in Smoky Slate with the Basic Pattern Decorative Masks and the Blending Brush. A fun card for any age!
