Deer Silhouette

I was so inspired by this Deer Silhouette wall hanging, that I had to make it into a card! http://justanotherhangup.blogspot.com/2013/03/deer-silhouette-wall-art-tutorial.html

The background is Brown Sugar, embossed with the Modern Mosaic Folder. Punched the happy birthday from Teeny Tiny Wishes with the Word Window punch. Black jute string and brads not SU.

To make the deer head silhouette, print off the silhouette template on your printer. Next, cut out the printed silhouette, and place on the backside of the vinyl (faux leather). The vinyl was super cheap at Hancock fabrics - $5.00 a yard and I only purchased 1/2 yard. I will be able to make several cards and several wall hangings with the 1/2 yard. Trace around the template with a black sharpie, or fine point felt pen. Then cut the image out of the vinyl. To finish off, color the very edges of the cutout with a black sharpie to minimize the white underside. And voila!

The card actually looks better IRL - great texture and dimension :) I usually have a crafter's block when it comes to cards for my father-in-law so I was happy to be inspired by the wall hanging!

This is the paper template on the back side of the vinyl.

Here is the template I downloaded and resized accordingly.
